In the Austrian city of Graz, a woman is believed to have been killed and an uninvolved driver died. On Saturday morning, the police found a seriously injured, bloodied woman in her apartment after a neighbor sounded the alarm, a police spokesman for the German Press Agency said. The 39-year-old died despite attempts to revive her. The broadcaster ORF had previously reported on the case online.

According to police, a 28-year-old suspect who is believed to have had a relationship with the woman fled the scene in a car. Just a few hundred meters away, he crashed head-on into another vehicle. Its driver died in the accident.

The suspect was seriously injured. The spokesman said he had been put into an artificial deep sleep and was therefore not asked for the time being. The woman had been stabbed, the murder weapon had not yet been identified, it said. Information about the background of the fact was not available.
