When Frank Mugisha talks about the new decree, he just calls it the “kill the gays law”. Last Tuesday, the parliament in his native Uganda passed one of the harshest catalogs of penalties against homosexuals in the world. The “seduction” to same-sex sex is to be punished with death. “Advertising” homosexuality or same-sex sex with seven to twenty years in prison. Only two MPs out of 389 voted against the law. After the vote was cast, there was clapping and celebration in Parliament. Meanwhile, Frank Mugisha fears for his life, even more than before.
