Patrick Scalabrini’s men were down 3-0 after four sets, but they began a slow comeback in the fifth set, with a sacrifice fly by David Glaude. The Quebecer produced a second run in the seventh inning, thanks to a single.

First baseman Webb Little forced the extra innings, stealing second base in the ninth inning, before taking advantage of a bad throw to complete his lap.

Capitals starting pitcher Michael Austin struck out six in as many innings. However, he was not involved in the decision, he who allowed the three opposing points.
