You have to really like something, in this case an amusement park in California, so you have to be a real fan to go there every day for eight years.

Jeff Reitz, now 50, from Huntington Beach, California, began visiting regularly in 2012. It started as a joke among friends. Reitz recalled in a statement from Guinness World Records that he was unemployed and was given the tickets as a gift. The visits have become a source of positive things, free entertainment.

And after some time, Jeff Reitz himself became the source of stories and entertainment. Local media and a news outlet picked up on his visits to Disneyland. Reitz shares impressions of his stays in the amusement park on Instagram, his account has more than 27,000 followers. He films Disney characters roaming the streets, shares iconic images like Disney Castle and has his picture taken with employees.

He likes to take pictures, Reitz is quoted as saying in the message. He was therefore always on the lookout for pictures that he could publish. Normally he just walked through the park – he emphasizes that the visits were also a sporting activity for him. “Some days I visited many attractions, other days I focused on a single area of ​​the park.”

With the pandemic in March 2020, the daily visits came to an abrupt end. The park closed its doors because of Corona. But to commemorate the daily excursions, there is now also an award. A few days ago, Guinness World Records announced that Jeff Reitz now holds the record with 2995 days in a row.

He does not yet know when he will return to the park, says Reitz. But he would love to take his Guinness World Record certificate: “To take photos where I deserve them – Disneyland”.
