A woman was killed and seven people injured in a gas explosion in a three-story apartment building in Katowice, Poland. The rescue workers found the body under the rubble of the collapsed house, as a spokeswoman for the local fire brigade told the German Press Agency on Friday.

Another person who may have been buried was still being searched for. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki wrote on Twitter that the dead person was a 68-year-old woman.

The accident happened at 8.30 a.m. on Friday morning in a vicarage. According to the authorities’ previous knowledge, there were nine people in the building at the time of the explosion. Recordings from the TVN24 broadcaster showed a residential building from the Gründerzeit, the facade and front part of which had completely collapsed.

More than 180 firefighters and members of a search party with dogs were deployed at the scene of the accident. Two children are among the seven injured. Four people were taken to the hospital, their lives were not in danger.
