After a swimming accident in Bochum, a ten-year-old boy is fighting for his life. He was pulled lifeless from the Ruhr by divers at a depth of three meters in the afternoon, as a spokesman for the fire brigade in Bochum said in the evening.

The child was resuscitated for a long time and then came to a clinic. At first there was also the suspicion that another child could have gone under in the river. However, this fear was not confirmed. A police helicopter with a thermal imaging camera was also used to search the Ruhr.

The fire brigade spokesman could not provide any information on the exact circumstances of the accident and whether the boy could swim or not. The relatives of the child who had an accident were cared for on site by an emergency pastor. The accident happened not far from an old railway and pedestrian bridge.
