Oliver Pocher (45) and his wife Amira Pocher (31) celebrated Christmas 2023 separately. Now he’s talking about, among other things, the fact that it was sometimes hard for him to be with his ex-wife, the model Sandy Meyer-Wölden (40), in Miami over the holidays and not being able to see the children he shared with the presenter. But he also explains that it was the “right decision”.
“That was Christmas 2023 – a Christmas completely different than 2022 was last year. There’s probably no other way to say that,” says Pocher in the new episode of his podcast “The Pochers! Freshly recycled”, available exclusively on Podimo, which he and Meyer -Wölden has. At the time she was “in Austria with the whole family” and the Pochers came along. This year the comedian flew to the USA to visit his ex-wife, with whom he also has three children – his “alternative family”, as Pocher calls it.
“This year we also aimed to celebrate together – and actually almost succeeded. But in the end I think we have to wait even longer, unfortunately,” says Meyer-Wölden. According to the 45-year-old, “I think it was the right decision to sit it out this year.” Amira celebrated with her mother, her stepfather, her brother Hima and the two kids. But they also spoke on the phone and he “got one or two photos of the children unpacking all their things. So everything is fine.”
“I hope these were the only Christmases we spent like this – although it was very nice with you,” says Meyer-Wölden. “But I know that you also missed your children, even though you now had your big three here. There are still two little ones.” Pocher confirms that it was not his goal for Christmas to be like this this year – and he told Amira that too.
Pocher says he had a “nice time” in Miami, but it was “emotional.” He is now looking forward to the birthday of his second son with Amira, he explains in the episode that was recorded in the USA. He, his ex-wife and their children are now back in Europe. As part of the birthday, the patchwork group went to an amusement park in the Netherlands.
The encounter seems to have gone well. The Pochers and Meyer-Wölden have published impressions from the Efteling theme park in their Instagram stories in the past few hours. “The patchwork family is back on track,” the model wrote about a short clip. Meanwhile, Amira Pocher reports on children’s eyes shining. “It was definitely a successful birthday trip,” she says. “I have to say we had a really great day – everyone.” They all had fun and “laughed a lot.”
