There’s an orca lying dead on the beach on Vancouver Island with strange bite marks. There are ice worms on the continental slope in the sea off Norway that appear to be carrying bacteria that erode the sea floor. And on France’s Atlantic coast, the pulpy inside of a lobster kills three restaurant workers. Poisonous jellyfish appear in Venice, and seashells of strange consistency attack cargo ships on the high seas. However, it will take a while before resourceful scientists sense a connection between all of this.
