In 2014, Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallström coined the term “feminist foreign policy”. Countries like Canada, France, Luxembourg, Mexico, Spain and Libya have followed Sweden’s lead. Germany is also planning a value-based foreign policy. The Green Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock gave the decisive impetus. In a first draft, she now presented the first “Guidelines for a Feminist Foreign Policy”. Women in the Global South should be promoted and supported more. This could mean a crucible for some diplomatic relations. Meanwhile, Sweden has said goodbye to the course.
