It’s been about a year since Will Smith (54) slapped comedian Chris Rock (58) live on stage at the 94th Academy Awards. As “The Wall Street Journal” reports, Rock will talk in detail about the slap scandal for the first time in his Netflix special “Chris Rock: Selective Outrage” planned for March 4th – and work it up humorously.

According to “CNN”, stand-up comedian Rock has only alluded to the scandalous incident in his stage performances over the past year. In the upcoming live special, the first of its kind on the Netflix streaming service, Rock will now share a whole series of jokes about Smith’s slap in the face. Among other things, the 58-year-old will answer the question of whether Smith’s blow hurt with “yes”.

Smith slapped Rock on stage at the 94th Academy Awards on March 27, 2022 after Rock made a joke about his ailing wife Jada Pinkett Smith (51). Following the attack, Smith accepted his Oscar for Best Actor for the sports drama King Richard. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences barred Smith from the awards for the next ten years for his unacceptable actions.

This year’s Oscars come on March 12, about a week after Rock’s comedy special streamed live on Netflix.
