The district court of Munich II sentenced a 22-year-old and a 21-year-old to long youth sentences this Monday for the triple murder in Starnberg.
The older main perpetrator of the two has to go to prison for 13 years for murder. He had confessed to shooting a friend and his parents in their house in Starnberg, Upper Bavaria, while they were sleeping in January 2020. The accused himself was repentant. “I agree with my lawyers, I wanted to apologize to all relatives, even though I know that my actions are not excusable,” he said in his last word on Monday morning.
His younger former roommate was sentenced to eight and a half years in prison, also for murder. According to the court, he is an accomplice.
The public prosecutor’s office had called for 13 years and six months in prison, the defense twelve years. The representatives of the accomplice had pleaded for acquittal of the murder charge. Your client drove the perpetrator to the scene of the crime, but knew nothing of his murder plans, but only participated in the planning of an armed robbery.
The court proceedings were considered to be complex and confusing. Again and again, new details and twists became known in the course of the story. The process took about a year and a half.
The verdict against the two men is not yet final.
