The significant recovery in the aviation industry brought record profits to Lufthansa Technik AG last year. With sales of EUR 5.6 billion, adjusted operating profit grew by 41 percent year-on-year to EUR 511 million, as the company announced today in Hamburg.

The demand for maintenance, repair and overhaul of commercial aircraft has risen sharply – which is why Lufthansa Technik with its more than 20,000 employees wants to hire around 4,000 new employees this year, 2,000 of them in Germany.

In view of people’s increasing desire to travel, Lufthansa Technik assumes that the global market will exceed the pre-corona level in the current year with a total volume of around 96 billion euros.

Last year, the company concluded 706 new contracts with a volume of 9.6 billion euros. “As a result, at the end of 2022 we not only looked after more than 800 customers, but also more than 4,200 aircraft again, although we had previously deleted hundreds from our order books due to the discontinued business in Russia,” says CEO Sören Stark.
