The tractors are rolling in: From this Monday onwards, farmers all over Germany want to demonstrate against the traffic light policy. Essentially, it is about abolishing the vehicle tax exemption for vehicles used in agriculture and abolishing diesel subsidies for farmers. Originally, an immediate cancellation of the tax refund for fuel was planned, but the federal government withdrew this after protests.

Among other things, rallies, blockades and rallyes have been announced in all 16 federal states – traffic chaos is feared. The German Farmers’ Association called in advance for peaceful and democratic actions and warned, among other things, to avoid using gallows as a symbol of protest. Nevertheless, there is concern that right-wing extremists, among others, will take part in the protests and use or reinterpret them for their own purposes. There are blatant calls for an illegal political general strike and a violent coup on relevant websites and messenger groups.
