Borussia Dortmund increased the pressure on FC Bayern with a thrashing victory and took over the top of the table in the Bundesliga for at least one day.

BVB clearly won against 1. FC Köln 6:1 (4:1) and with 53 points is now one point ahead of Munich, who are visiting Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday. After the international break, Dortmund are going into the top game at Bayern on April 1 with a lot of tailwind.

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim has meanwhile stopped its sporting descent and probably saved the job of the previously counted coach Pellegrino Matarazzo. The Kraichgauer prevailed in the basement duel with Hertha BSC at home 3-1 (2-0) and scored the first three points in the sixth game under Matarazzo. In the event of another defeat, the former Stuttgart coach would have been threatened with dismissal, according to media reports.

Thanks to their first Bundesliga win in five months, Hoffenheim climbed up to 15th place in the table, with Hertha one place behind. The new bottom is VfB Stuttgart after the 0:1 (0:0) home defeat against VfL Wolfsburg. FC Schalke 04 saved a point in added time in the 1-1 (0-0) win at FC Augsburg. Thanks to the surprising 1-0 (0-0) win over RB Leipzig, VfL Bochum gained some air in the bottom of the table.

Dortmund’s Raphael Guerreiro (15′), Sebastien Haller (17′), Marco Reus (32′) and Donyell Malen (36′) made things clear in the first half. After Davie Selke ended Cologne’s Tormisere after four games without a goal (42nd), Haller (69th) and Reus (70th) increased Dortmund’s victory further.

In Sinsheim, Andrej Kramaric scored the first two goals for Hoffenheim with two converted penalties (24th and 37th), Ihlas Bebou (51st) increased to 3:0. Hertha could no longer benefit from the red card for TSG professional Munas Dabbur (71st) and only managed to score a consolation goal from Stevan Jovetic (90th 2).

Erhan Masovic headed Bochum into the lead shortly after the break. After that, Leipzig pressed, but four days after the 0:7 in the Champions League at Manchester City there was the next serious setback for the Saxons.

Schalke, who were at risk of relegation, fell behind after a goal by Arne Maier (51st). After the red card for Augsburg’s Ermedin Demirovic (53.) for a serious foul, the guests got a deserved equalizer with a penalty kick from Marius Bülter (90.3).

In Stuttgart attacker Omar Marmoush scored the goal of the day in the 56th minute for Wolfsburg, who can continue their hopes of the European Cup with the hard-fought victory.
