The Rostock Seawolves have caused the next surprise in the basketball Bundesliga and completed the dozen of victories. On Saturday, the newcomer celebrated a 94:88 (48:41) win at Brose Bamberg and thus left the field as the winner for the twelfth time in the 24th game. The best pitchers in the team of head coach Christian Held were Tyler Nelson and JeQuan Lewis with 21 points each.

The Rostock team managed to get off to an impressive start in the encounter. After three successful throws from three, the guests led 9:2 after a short time. As the first quarter progressed, the Seawolves’ lead grew to as much as 15 points. After a 7-0 run by the hosts at the beginning of the second period, however, the game threatened to tip over. Bamberg came close to equalizing on several occasions. Shortly before the break, however, Mecklenburg managed to pull away again.

Even after the change of sides, the guests were initially the better team and extended their lead to 13 points. After that, however, the Held team started having more and more problems and had to concede the equalizer to 67:67 shortly before the end of the third quarter. In the final section, Bamberg seemed to be on course for victory, but the Seawolves fought back. Selom Mawugbe finally paved the way to victory with 80 seconds before the end with his basket to 91:86.
