The vacuum pump specialist Pfeiffer Vacuum expects lower profits in day-to-day business this year due to higher costs. Although sales should reach the previous year’s level of almost 917 million euros, the company listed in the SDax announced on Tuesday in Asslar in Hesse. However, only about 12 percent of this is likely to remain as operating earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) and thus about as much as in 2021. In the past year, this margin had increased to 13.0 percent. The management explained that it is now likely to fall again with the high inflation. Pfeiffer will probably not be able to pass the rising costs on to its customers in full.

Last year, the company earned a good 86 million euros, 39 percent more than in the previous year. As already known on the basis of preliminary figures, sales grew by 19 percent to almost 917 million euros. Operating profit increased by 28 percent to a good 119 million euros. However, shareholders are said to be content with a dividend of 11 cents per share after receiving 4.08 euros for 2021. Pfeiffer had already announced this cut in February and justified it with high investments.
