In the trial of the alleged sexual abuse of a then 14-year-old patient, a self-proclaimed faith healer and shaman denied the allegations against himself. “There is a history to every single fact,” said the accused on Tuesday at the beginning of his testimony at the Munich district court via an interpreter.

Through his treatment, the girl relived the trauma of her mother and grandmother, who were themselves victims of rape and abuse. However, these experiences only happened to the girl “in her mind”.

The public prosecutor accuses the Chilean of sexual abuse, assault and rape. The 64-year-old is said to have made the girl run naked through a forest as part of his treatment. He also pushed her down a three-meter-high cliff into a stream near the Sylvenstein reservoir. Then he is said to have brought her to his trailer, massaged her and raped her there. He is also said to have attempted abuse with another patient.

In the course of the proceedings, various family members of the 14-year-olds who were also being treated by the accused should also be heard. Five days of negotiations are scheduled for the process. The verdict could fall on April 27th.
