Deliveries amounting to $500 million are to be made from US Army stocks, the Pentagon said. The other $2.1 billion is new defense orders.
The Pentagon said the US would “continue to work with its allies and partners” to supply Ukraine with weapons for “immediate battlefield needs” as well as longer-term needs. The US is Ukraine’s main supporter in the war against Russia. According to the US State Department, the US has pledged $35.1 billion in military aid to Ukraine since the Russian war of aggression began on February 24, 2022.
