Three new “Star Wars” films are to be created. This was announced at the “Star Wars Celebration 2023”. Since the release of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” in 2019, fans have been waiting for news on how the franchise will continue in cinemas. Some projects were announced only to be shelved again. In the meantime, “Star Wars” fans can at least look forward to series spin-offs on Disney.

Now there will also be a comeback on the big screen, and the first film could start at the end of 2025. This is known so far about the three planned “Star Wars” films…

According to US media reports, the first of the three new “Star Wars” films will be “Dawn Of The Jedi”. Lucasfilm revealed on stage at Star Wars Celebration that the film will be set in the pre-Old Republic era, over 25,000 years before the events of the Skywalker saga. Apparently little is known about the cast and the history of the film so far, other than that it is supposed to revolve around the origins of the Jedi Order and the first Jedi. The film is directed by James Mangold (59).

The second new “Star Wars” film comes from Dave Filoni (48), the creator of “The Clone Wars”, “Star Wars Rebels” or “The Mandalorian”. The film is said to be the culmination of the Mandalorian story and could be a crossover of The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka series. “The Mandalorian” main actor Pedro Pascal (48) could also embody the character Din Djarin on the big screen – possibly together with Rosario Dawson (43) as Ahsoka Tano and Temuera Morrison (62) as Boba Fett. The film takes place between “Return of the Jedi” and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”.

The third “Star Wars film” announced at the “Star Wars Celebration” is “New Jedi Order”. It is reportedly set 15 years after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Daisy Ridley (30) returns as Rey Skywalker. The film will reportedly focus on the exploits of Rey as she tries to rebuild the Jedi Order after the events of the sequel trilogy. The film is directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (44).
