Even at the proud age of 90, she attracts everyone’s attention: Joan Collins, the legendary “Denver Clan” beast. The British actress beamed with her fifth husband Percy Gibson (58) on the red carpet of the Emmy Awards. The couple has been happily married for over 20 years.
Wearing a light blue sequined dress and long, tonal opera gloves, Collins made perhaps the most glamorous appearance of the evening. Large silver chandelier earrings complemented the actress’ sparkling look. Her husband stayed discreetly in the background in an elegant tuxedo and repeatedly put his arm around his famous wife.
Collins also created a special moment on the big Emmy stage. Together with actress Taraji P. Henson (53), she presented the award in the “Best Miniseries/Anthology Series” category, which went to the social satire “Beef”.
Collins was already 48 when she became one of the world’s most famous actresses with the TV series “The Denver Clan” (1981-1989) and made television history with her role as the vengeful schemer Alexis Colby. In 1983 she won a Golden Globe for her acting performance. After the series ended in 1989, she appeared in other TV roles. She played the Grand Duchess Alexandra of Oxford in “The Royals” from 2015 to 2018, and in 2018 she appeared in the successful series “American Horror Story”.
She is still in front of the camera and commutes between her residences in London, Los Angeles and on the Côte d’Azur. In 2022 she was a guest judge on the British edition of the hit show “The Masked Singer”. She recently wrote her autobiography, “Behind The Shoulder Pads,” in which she describes her memories and adventures. The book was published in September 2023.
