The Bundestag Budget Committee has confirmed the establishment of a new construction research center with headquarters in Bautzen. In its adjustment meeting, the Bundestag once again committed itself to the realization of this project, which is unique in Europe, said the Parliamentary Managing Director of the FDP in the Bundestag, Torsten Herbst from Saxony, on Thursday evening.
After the Constitutional Court ruling last year, the federal budget had to be re-decided. A total of 68.6 million euros in federal funding is planned for the research center.
According to the information, the new federal research center “LAB – Living Art of Building” will conduct research into resource-saving and climate-neutral construction of the future. According to the Bautzen city administration, the LAB will create more than 1,200 jobs in the areas of science and technology.
