On May 6, his grandfather Charles is crowned king. But for nine-year-old Prince George, this day should be at least as exciting. Because he will be right in the middle as a page. To ensure that everything works as it should during the big performance, he has to train diligently beforehand.

In an interview with the British daily “Mirror”, the royal expert and author Ingrid Seward gave an insight into the rather special training program: “As one of four honorary pages, he must know the six phases of the coronation. Already during the Easter holidays Catherine not only has George , but also taught his siblings a simplified version of what they will experience that day.”

The six stages that royal offspring must memorize are: the Recognition, the Oath, the Consecration, the Inauguration (including the Coronation), the Accession to the Throne and the Homage. But that’s not all they need to know.

Above all, George must be able to follow the exact procedure in his sleep, and he must also know the location, Westminster Abbey in London, like the back of his hand.

Since it is not possible to train directly on site in the church, his parents would have thought about something. Seward reports: “There are no actual rehearsals and instead they were advised to use the online virtual tour of the abbey as training for George. If he can imagine where to go and what to do, he won’t be anymore feel nervous.” After all, he is the youngest, the other three honorary pages are 12 and 13 years old.

Kate and William know this event is going to be very exciting. Therefore, in addition to the explanations and virtual tours, there are still fun role-playing games at home: “You and William hope that George will not be too intimidated by his responsibility by making it fun and re-enacting parts of his grandfather’s tasks,” says Seward.

So humor seems to be the best recipe against stage fright
