After the violent death of a 24-year-old in Lüdenscheid, the 23-year-old suspect turned himself in. The Syrian had been arrested for the time being and should come before the magistrate on Friday, the police and public prosecutor’s office in Hagen said in the morning.

The 23-year-old was previously wanted. He turned himself in to the police on Thursday evening, accompanied by his lawyer. The alleged perpetrator is said to have shot his victim on an escalator at the bus station on Monday. Both men are Syrians and have known each other.

The 24-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries after being shot and later died in hospital. A homicide commission took over the investigation into the act in the Märkischer Kreis.

Initially, two 15 and 18-year-olds were arrested, but the suspicion against them had not been substantiated.
