Duchess Sophie (58) accompanied her nephew Prince William (40) to an event in London. The two royals are rarely seen together on appointments. According to British media reports, they attended a screening of the documentary “Rhino Man” in the newly renovated “Battersea Power Station” in the south-west of the British capital.
The Duchess of Edinburgh wore a lilac floral midi dress by the label Erdem to the event, reportedly worth £1,350. The 58-year-old combined the sleeveless outfit with a dark purple clutch and nude-colored open pumps. Prince Edward’s (59) wife had her blonde hair styled in loose waves, which featured jeweled drop earrings. The British heir to the throne, Prince William, wore a classic dark blue suit with a polka dot tie and a white shirt.
The two royals watched the documentary Rhino Man, which was produced by the Global Conservation Corps charity, at the joint appearance. It is about rangers in South Africa who risk their lives every day to protect rhinos from poaching.
Prince Edward and his wife Sophie received the titles Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh in March. Since then, they have appeared more frequently with Prince William and his wife, Princess Kate (41). At the coronation of Edward’s eldest brother, King Charles III. (74), the couple sat in the front row at Westminster Abbey in May – alongside Kate, William and their children. A little later, the four royals acted together as hosts at a garden party at Buckingham Palace.
Since her marriage to Prince Edward in 1999, Duchess Sophie has been very popular with the British. The late Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) is said to have been very close to her daughter-in-law.
