Actor and bodybuilder Ralf Moeller (64) sees heroes more in everyday life than in the cinema. “Heroes work in care, with the fire brigade or with the police,” said Moeller of the German Press Agency in Worms. “These are people who turn their heads every day, you have to support them, with organizations like the White Ring or elsewhere.” Moeller became famous, among other things, for his role in the heroic epic “Gladiator”.

In the past, heroes like Winnetou, Leon the Professional or the Gladiator always died in films, Moeller said. “Of course they didn’t die because they wanted to die, but because it was in the script.” Today, thanks to Hollywood, a hero has the chance to live on forever. “Because he’s needed for the next sequel.”

Moeller can be seen at the Nibelungen Festival in Worms from July 7th – in a film sequence as Fafnir. Intendant of the spectacle is Ufa boss Nico Hofmann. “Fafnir is mistaken for a dragon but in human form. An exciting role,” said Moeller.
