A 14-year-old has been on trial since Monday on suspicion of the treacherous murder of a youth of the same age. The main hearing at a youth chamber of the Hanover Regional Court is not public. In the spring, the public prosecutor’s office in Hanover brought charges against the 14-year-old German. He has remained silent on the allegations since his arrest. A total of seven days of negotiations are scheduled for the process. According to the Göttingen victims’ lawyer and co-plaintiff representative Steffen Hörning, the survivors of the victim hope above all for an answer to the question “why”.
The boys had met to play in late January, but one of them never returned home after the date. His father reported him missing to the police.
