The thriller series “Hijack” with the British lead actor Idris Elba (51) is being continued. The streaming service Apple TV announced the second season. The first season about a passenger plane that is hijacked on the flight from Dubai to London started last June.

Elba (“Luther”, “Thor: Day of Decision”) played businessman Sam Nelson, who, as a passenger, negotiates with the hijackers on board in order to gain time and find a way out without bloodshed. The series, filmed in real time, had seven one-hour episodes.

Nothing was initially known about the content of the second season. “It is top secret what situation Sam Nelson will find himself in this time, but I can assure you that we will keep the tension high again,” Elba said in a statement. The British star is back on board as the lead actor and executive producer. Director Jim Field Smith (“Criminal”) is also there again.
