Since the start of the second season of the “Sex and the City” offshoot “And Just Like That…” on Sky and the streaming service Wow, fans have been looking forward to two comebacks in particular: Kim Cattrall (66) as Samantha Jones and John Corbett (62) as Aidan Shaw. While Cattrall’s brief appearance is scheduled for the season finale, Corbett made his comeback last episode.
After Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker, 58) previously emailed her ex-fiancé in the episode, the two meet on a date of all days on Valentine’s Day. 13 years have passed since they last met, but the two quickly realize that they are still “on the same wavelength”. The episode ends with a passionate kiss.
Corbett first appeared as Aidan Shaw in the third season of “Sex and the City” and stayed until the sixth. His love for Carrie ended painfully twice. After Carrie cheated on him with her future husband Mr. Big (Chris Noth, 68), they dared to try again a little later and were even engaged. But there was no happy ending between the two.
In 2010, Corbett returned to his role for the second feature film in the series. At this point, Aidan is a happily married family man, and Carrie is married to her great love, Mr. Big. Nevertheless, there is a kiss, Carrie runs away in haste.
Does their on-off love get another chance in the spin-off? Carrie seems ready for a new love after Big’s painful death, and Aidan is also a free man after his marriage failed…”I think I’ll be in a few [episodes],” Corbett announced in one Interview already on.
There will soon be a reunion with another successful role by John Corbett. In September, he returns to the big screen in My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3. The 62-year-old also stars in the second sequel to the 2002 surprise hit as Ian Miller, who becomes part of the Greek Portokalos clan through his marriage to Toula (Nia Vardalos, 60). In the third part, the family returns to their roots in Greece, thereby fulfilling the dying wish of the late family patriarch Gus (Michael Constantine, 1927-2021).
