In Slovenia, almost two thirds of the country are affected by flooding as a result of severe storms (read more here). Further flooding is also feared in Austria and Croatia. The north-east of Poland was also hit by violent thunderstorms on Saturday, according to the fire brigade, streets in the city of Olsztyn were 70 to 80 centimeters under water.
The storm situation will remain acute in Germany’s neighborhood on Sunday and regional storms are also to be expected in this country – especially from the afternoon and in the south and north-east. In some cases, the German Weather Service (DWD) warns of continuous or heavy rain and stormy winds in the affected regions.

The map above shows the DWD warnings for storms and thunderstorms for today. It is a binary weather map, i.e. places for which there is a thunderstorm warning are colored red. No coloring means no warning. Clicking on the map takes you to the wetter.de portal, which, like the stern, belongs to RTL Germany.
