The people in Berlin and Brandenburg have to be prepared for strong to extreme heat on Saturday. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), the temperatures of up to 34 degrees are particularly stressful for old people and people in need of care. During the day it will be clear to cloudy.
On the night of Sunday, heavy showers will move from west to east across Berlin and Brandenburg. According to the DWD, thunderstorms with heavy rain, hail and gusts of wind up to 60 kilometers per hour are to be expected in northeastern Brandenburg. It cools down to 18 degrees.
The dense development in the urban area of Berlin can lead to little cooling at night and thus to additional pollution, as the DWD announced.
Sunday starts cloudy. Local showers are possible in the eastern half of Brandenburg. In the course of the day it will be increasingly clear and dry with up to 31 degrees. Temperatures will drop to 13 degrees on Monday night. It will remain dry, locally flat patches of fog can occur.
According to the Ministry for Agriculture, Environment and Climate Protection, West Brandenburg has a forest fire risk level of one. In the eastern half, the danger level is two and is therefore low. Only in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district is there a medium risk of forest fire with warning level three.
