Pittsburgh is preparing for heavy rain and strong storms overnight, as severe weather moves through western Pennsylvania. Chief meteorologist Mike Harvey from Pittsburgh’s Action Weather warns that the storms could bring heavy rain, lightning, and strong wind gusts in the early morning hours, around 2 a.m. to 3 a.m. The main concern is the potential for flooding due to the heavy rainfall.
By 7 a.m., the severe weather is expected to clear out of the area, but there may be some residual showers throughout Thursday afternoon. These showers are predicted to be isolated and light in most areas. Friday morning will start off cloudy, with a chance of isolated showers later in the day.
Saturday is forecasted to be a pleasant day with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid-70s. Despite the incoming severe weather, most locations should remain dry on Friday and Saturday. However, it is advisable to stay updated with the latest weather alerts by downloading the WTAE app or signing up for email newsletters.
As we head into the weekend, it is important to stay informed and prepared for any potential severe weather conditions. Stay safe and be vigilant as the storms pass through the region.
