Regensburg (dpa) – The German tennis player Julia Görges does not believe in a continuation of the official game operation this year.
“I will say frankly: We are a fully international Sport, in which players from all countries must come together. Quite logical and considered normal in terms of freedom to travel: I would be pretty surprised if this year will still take place in some kind of tournament,” said the 31-Year-old, who lives in Regensburg, Germany, the “süddeutsche Zeitung”. This was their “personal opinion,” said Görges. “That’s why I’m relatively relaxed. We will get at some point the Gong when it goes off.”
Because of the Coronavirus pandemic is interrupted, the Tennis season since the beginning of March and will run until at least the middle of July expose. An extension of the break is considered safe. There is also a discussion about tournaments with no Fans. “Viewers contribute very much to a game of tennis. Atmospheric and of the emotions here,” said Görges. “But for a short period of time, I could imagine it. Mind games should not be a permanent solution.”
