An old factory on the RAW site next to Halle main train station caught fire during the night. The fire department’s extinguishing work will probably last until Friday morning, the police said on Friday. The officials assume that there was arson in the empty hall on the former industrial site. The factory is in danger of collapsing.
According to Deutsche Bahn, there were also restrictions on a DB Cargo facility during the fire. However, there is no impact on train traffic.
According to the police, Delitzscher Strasse had to be closed during the night in order to supply the fire department with water. No people were injured. The amount of damage was initially unknown.
