VfB Lübeck’s crisis in results continued with a draw at 1. FC Saarbrücken. Due to the 1:1 (1:0), the Hanseatic League have been without a win in the 3rd football league since the third matchday. As on the previous match day, VfB conceded the equalizer shortly before the end of the game.
Jannik Löhden scored for Lübeck in the 11th minute at the Ludwigsparkstadion. Saarbrücken’s Patrick Sontheimer had to leave the field with a yellow-red card in the 84th minute. While outnumbered, Saarbrücken made it 1-1 through Amine Naifi in the tenth minute of stoppage time.
Löhden gave VfB the lead with a header after a corner. Richard Neudecker (30th) tried from a distance for Saarbrücken, but goalkeeper Philipp Klewin was able to deflect the powerful shot to the side. The hosts increased the pressure, but were unable to capitalize on their chances for a long time. With the last action of the game, Naifi artfully turned a corner into the Lübeck goal for a deserved equalizer.
