In July it’s going again. Then Marcel Schrötter will measure again with his rival in Moto2. He is not optimistic – although he sat for a long time on his motorcycle. And still it sits.
plough village – Marcel Schrötter is fit. In the past few weeks, he cycled countless miles, made strength training. Without knowing how it actually goes further. But now, the Moto2-Pilot certainty has. 19. July continues the World championship series in Jerez, Spain. Schrötter’ll live to sit back on his motorcycle. The Motivation for Training is now even bigger, the Workout is easier. “From the head it is something else, when you know that there’s more”, says the driver of the team “Dynavolt Intact GP”.
Still, the 27-Year-old in his native plough village. But at the end of June he wants to leave for Spain, where he lives most of the time of year and where in July, the first race after the corona-induced forced break will take place. There, the training opportunities are wider. “Because I can prepare me,” says Schrötter.

This does not mean that he is turning his bike round. Because the machines are prototypes, and enormously expensive. In addition, there are a few routes which can be ridden. Therefore, Schrötter just sits in the race, the official training and Tests on his motorcycle. “Anything else would be a huge effort that would be on top of that, associated with huge costs.”
Moto2-pilot therefore search for alternative training methods. Schrötter, for example, was the last to experience, among other things, the go-kart track in Ampfing to. He drove a few laps on four wheels. But of the two he coached: With a Minibike he lay on the same route in the curves. Ex-MotoGP rider Jonas Folger was invited to an Event where the riders on smaller motorcycles started. Folger, who is competing this year in the International German motorcycle championship (IDM), invited Schrötter in addition to Oschersleben. There, he was able to train with a motorcycle of the follower’s IDM Team. “I just try to test everything Possible,” says Schrötter. The behavior on the Bike could also be used with other machines, also would be trained muscle groups, which can be claimed without the g-forces barely.
the fine-tuning of the own machine is missing after the long time without a test drive, not Schrötter nervous. “You don’t forget the Drive, even if the break was greater than, for example, the winter break,” says Schrötter. “It’s already all so. And there’s not enough time. I feel good, fit and I’m prepared.“
The last race of the Moto2 riders at 8. March in Doha denied. It was the prelude to the world Cup. Schrötter was out with his “Kalex” as the Seventh across the finish line. In Jerez and the other races he wants to top that.
No audience for fever measure, and the Corona Test
The Drum will then be different than it was three months ago. Spectators must remain in the football stadiums out there. And the athletes are monitored with health constantly. Regular corona tests and fever are. In the driver store, everyone is allowed to stay only as long as necessary.
Even the calendar has changed because of the forced break and travel restrictions. Several times Grand find Prix on two consecutive weekends in the same place – for example, in Jerez. Schrötter, the “not bad, that’s less Stress and we create more races”. That of all the German Event at the sachsenring (he was removed last year, third-party) complete, the plough, villages easily. “We don’t go without an audience, because it is so bad. The Sachsenring lives of the Fans,“ says Schrötter. “The main thing is, we are going back next year.”
