“Even taking a shower every day is a strenuous effort for me,” says Sonja Roth. The nurse did not recover from a serious corona infection in January 2021 and has been suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) ever since. She used to work full-time as a nursing manager in a retirement home and also had energy for her family, the household, activities, further training and sport. Every week she rode her mountain bike through the mountains for over 150 kilometers. A power life. And now a distant dream for the 44-year-old from near Freiburg.
