Billie Eilish (21) loves her own music. The US singer, who has won numerous awards in recent years, has now also revealed that she thinks one of her own songs is very stupid. She said this during a visit with her older brother, Finneas O’Connell (26), to US talk show host Jimmy Kimmel (55).
“Well, objectively speaking, ‘Bad Guy’ is the dumbest song in the world,” Eilish says in the interview. Only to immediately add: “But it’s really good.” Eilish also tries to explain what exactly she means by that. You just have to understand it and have a sense of humor. The singer trolled with the song: “This song is supposed to be silly, but it’s just funny because it’s stupid.”
The song, produced by Eilish’s brother Finneas, debuted on the charts in 2019 and won Best Single and Best Song at the 62nd Grammy Awards. The official music video for “Bad Guy” now has more than 1.2 billion views on YouTube alone.
Eilish also talks about, among other things, how she can’t understand when artists don’t listen to their own songs and maybe even hate their music. “I find that very frustrating, because why are you doing that?” asks the singer. She and Finneas are “big fans of what we do and I love my own music.” But the way she looks at her own songs is also changing. Although some things are embarrassing for her, she still appreciates everything.
