After our super trip to Saint-Too, embark for Italy. After Rome, this is Venice which kicks the more tourists in a lack of romanticism and dolce vita. For a couple, there is a before and an after-Venice : we spent his first weekend getaway, it asks for the hand of his beloved piazza San Marco, to celebrate a wedding anniversary. The Serenissima is the city of love. Thanks to literature and cinema, but also the means of locomotion modern, the myth of the venetian persists in the early Twenty-first century. And the music in all of this ?
there are so many artists singing Venice in all its forms ! The loves, of course. They are nascent, living or dying. But also the festivities : the carnival, the only one who can compete with that of Rio (we’ll get to that). And, finally, the threat : Venice, beset by the large cruise ships full of tourists, and scared by the consequences of global warming, may well disappear. “Only water, only water !” as would have said Mac Mahon. Not something to curl up.
For this second postcard give away, such as Alain Juppé, the temptation of Venice. In our gondola music : Ringo and Sheila (of course), Julien Clerc (mandatory), Charles Aznavour (of course), Serge Reggiani (surprising) Frida Boccara (edifying). Good listening and the kiss from Venice !
