Ready to put on the gloves without ever receiving the slightest punch ? It is possible at Punch Boxing. Nestled in the heart of the 1st arrondissement of Paris – two steps from the Louvre museum, this studio opened its doors on December 2, 2019. Its concept ? Sessions of 50 minutes spread over 10 rounds and combining fitness exercises and drills of boxing for a full body workout and is accessible to all.

Diving into a darkness partially illuminated by neon lights and punctuated by a music tonic, gym Punch Boxing immerses the athletes who have come to live a unique experience in an atmosphere unique. “The darkness creates the privacy,” says Jules Bouscatel, co-founder of the studio. “We very much like to say that it offers group lessons for individuals. If many of us in the room – and that we feel all the energy around us – the fact of being in the dark allows each to désinhiber without worrying about the gaze of others and focus on oneself. “In this room of 100 m2, the space is divided into two parts : one dedicated to the bootcamp (type of military training), the other in boxing. Each participant may elect to begin its meeting on the side of its choice. But it will follow five rounds of each.

Side boxing combinations followed, but did not look the same. The punchers, strung together kick right, uppercut and hook on aquabags (bags filled with water), without ever receiving the slightest blow in return. Next bootcamp, benches and free weights are available to the participants, for a session that combines cardio and muscle strengthening. Squats, pushups, burpees, or jumping jacks are waiting for you.

Finally, in the centre of the room, the coach throne on the dais, ensuring the right technical and distilling his advice. “We are not a gym traditional, but rather a studio in the anglo-saxon. At Punch Boxing, it is not a question of calories or weight. We offer a parenthesis in sports during which the participants will experience fun, motivating and inspiring, ” says Jules Bouscatel. “People come in family, between friends or sometimes even date Tinder !” has fun there.

To propose this workout comprehensive and challenging, the co-founders of Punch Boxing, Chloé, Christian and Jules Bouscatel, have spent a lot of time to visit the best studios in sports. “My wife, Chloe, we discovered this concept when we lived in England. There, the way people consume sport is completely different from ours, since there are a lot of studios. “But the reactor core is located on the other side of the Atlantic. Novices in the fitness industry and anxious to provide the best possible experience, Jules and his wife Chloe then decided to fly to the United States. “We are left to discover all of the studios that existed from Los Angeles to Florida, passing through Santa Barbara, San Francisco or Arizona. But it is in New York it was discovered that Rumble and it was decided to adapt the concept to the French market. “Jules and Chloe have finally opened their studio in December 2019, offering a new way of doing sport, accessible to all and without condition level.

Punch Boxing is installed in the Marsh. © DRAvec: 32 places per session and an average occupation rate of 85 %, Jules Bouscatel boasts its first balance sheet. “Since the launch of this project, there is a strong appetite of the people, and this is reflected in our figures, which are in constant progression. “Building on this success, the young entrepreneur plans to open a new room in Paris. For the time, place, remains confidential, but Julius hopes to inaugurate in the first quarter of 2021.
