Vermillion was under investigation for unknown reasons. When asked by reporters about the situation, Ron Rivera, Washington coach, referred them to a statement from his team.
The team stated that Ryan Vermillion was placed on administrative leave as a result of an ongoing criminal investigation, which is not related to the team.
NBC Sports Washington reported Friday that federal authorities raided the INOVA Sports Performance Centre in Ashburn, Virginia and a Loudon County residence. According to reports, residents in the area saw Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
Fox News asked for comment from the DEA but they didn’t respond immediately.

Vermillion is listed as Vermillion’s director of sports medicine, and the Washington Football Team’s head athletic trainer.
“Ryan Vermillion begins his second season in Washington as the head athletic trainer.” He spent 18 seasons as the Carolina Panthers’ head athletic trainer, nine of those under Ron Rivera, the current Washington Head Coach. Vermillion’s bio can be found on the team website.
Dan Snyder, the team owner, called Vermillion “one the most respected and experienced head athletic trainers of the NFL” in 2020 after the trainer arrived from the Panthers. Rivera stated that he had “experienced firsthand the positive effect Ryan has on a group.”
