Cruz stated, “I know that all of us are lifting up prayers for the students and teachers and first responders as well as the parents.”
“There were far too many of these at far to many schools, so we are thankful for the courage of the first responders and are hopeful that all students and individuals who might have been injured will survive.
Then he began to speak about immigration.
He said, “We are here today in order to discuss the Biden border crise that continues to rage at the southern border,” before networks stopped covering the conference.
Instantly, Twitter users began to criticize Cruz for not spending more time talking about the shooting to attack Biden over immigration.
One user wrote, “Of all Ted Cruz’s snarky and disgusting, fake outrage, inauthentic, fake performances I have seen, this pivot from the school shooting that just occurred not far away to rip Biden over the border, might just just be the worst.”
One user said that they were not surprised Cruz chose to attack Biden over shining a light upon the victims of the school shooting.
The post stated that Ted Cruz used the school shooting to criticize President Biden.
Arlington police confirmed that an 18-year old was responsible for the shooting at Timberview High School after a fight between two students.
