Ralf Stadler actually didn’t like going to Ecki’s “Film Shop” in Kassel’s train station district. There is hardly anything he loves more than films. But Eckhard Baum’s shop in Kassel was simply a smoky cave. The windows are boarded up from the inside, there is an iron grille in front of them from the outside. Inside, everything was crammed with self-assembled shelves. A labyrinth, 200 square meters in size, spread over ten rooms. There were movie posters with eagle owls plastered on the walls. And that old carpet: a musty tripping hazard. Finally, this Ecki himself.
