Two people were injured in an accident at the Bendorf junction (Mayen-Koblenz district) on the A48. According to initial investigations, a 64-year-old driver lost control of her car on a curve on the rain-soaked road on Monday morning and collided with a truck, the police said. The Bendorf junction was completely closed at the scene of the accident.
According to the police, the 64-year-old left the motorway in her vehicle to drive onto the B42. There the car crashed into the oncoming truck. The woman was trapped in her vehicle and seriously injured, while her passenger was slightly injured. Firefighters rescued the driver. An ambulance took her to the hospital. The truck driver remained uninjured.
