A crew member is missing on the “Aida Perla”. The ship had to turn unscheduled on Sunday morning. Passengers reported on the platform
When asked by Stern, a spokeswoman for the cruise company confirmed the incident. She said: “Aida Cruises confirms that there are grounds to believe that a crew member of ‘Aida Perla’ went overboard in the Strait of England early on the morning of October 22nd.”
On Sunday evening, the operating company sent an update to the star: “In the search for a missing crew member in the English Channel/Strait of Dover, the MRCC Dover took over further coordination on Sunday morning. Official ships, a helicopter and ‘Aida Perla were there ‘ involved. Unfortunately, the search has so far been unsuccessful.”
The message to the star continues: “The ‘Aida Perla’ was released from the search operation by the MRCC Dover after dark on Sunday around 6.15 p.m. and has resumed its journey towards La Coruna. It will be there on the 24th. October around 9 a.m. expected.”

The missing person has apparently not been found so far. The company’s spokeswoman previously told the Star: “The onboard search confirmed that a male crew member was missing. The ship was immediately stopped and returned to the location where the incident was believed to have occurred to take part in the search.”
The “Aida Perla” was originally on its way to its winter cruising area in the Caribbean. The arrival in La Romana in the Dominican Republic was planned for November 9th.
