There would be an extra-marital relationship at the basis of the murder of the Italian businessman, Mauro Donato Gadda, whose charred body was found late yesterday afternoon in Magurele, near Bucharest. According to what was reported by the local police and based on the first results of the autopsy, the body of the 64-year-old man from Busto Garolfo, province of Milan, had several fractures to the bones of the hands, several broken ribs and a split skull. The body was then burned, locked up in the trunk of a Dacia Logan – a car in the name of Gadda, even if the plate had been removed – and abandoned in the Magurele countryside.

The first hypothesis, that of a possible mafia context, was later denied by subsequent investigations by the judiciary. Gadda, according to local newspapers, had been in Romania for ten years where he had settled between Giurgiu and Bucharest, and was a partner together with a couple, husband and wife, well known in the Romanian business community, of a company that deals of the production of pumps and water filters. As far as is known, he had a good economic position, a villa in a residential area and a boat. He was fond of fishing and horseback riding and, according to what local newspapers in Bucharest write, he would have had several relationships with young women.

Investigators’ suspects had already turned to the circle of people close to Gadda, and earlier today two suspects – husband and wife aged 27 and 23, were arrested and confessed to the murder. According to reports from the G4 Media website, the entrepreneur showed up at her partner’s house, in sector 5 of the capital Bucharest, finding her with her ex-husband. An altercation immediately degenerated would have arisen, and the two would have first killed Gadda, then locked his body in the trunk of his own car, belonging to a rental company, with which they transferred him to the Magurele countryside to set him on fire.
