The plenary session of Comú has approved this Saturday to ask Ada Colau to appear in the primaries to opt for “the third and last term” for the Mayor’s Office of Barcelona.
The request has been approved by 221 votes in favor, none against and 1 blank, according to a statement from the formation.
In the absence of Colau for a trip, the protagonist of the plenary session was the Minister of Universities, former Deputy Mayor for Culture of Barcelona and promoter of BComú 8 years ago, Joan Subirats.
“I am convinced that BComú can win these elections and that is why we ask Ada to continue leading Barcelona”, said Subirats, who has transferred to the plenary session the request for support for Colau that the BComú Coordinator had previously agreed upon.
The minister, who was Colau’s ‘number 2’ in the 2019 elections, has defended that the future passes through leaderships such as that of Colu and for BComú to win the municipal ones: «That the transformation that we have begun becomes even more visible and also arrive and more people ».
