The Councilor for Town Planning, José Pablo Sabrido, has advanced in the Town Planning Commission held this Monday at the Town Hall that the Government team will present the progress of the new Municipal Planning in an extraordinary commission before the plenary session of the month of June, a document about which there is great expectation in the city and whose presentation has been announced for months.

The previous document, from 2007, was definitively annulled in 2018 after several court rulings, which has forced the Toledo City Council to abide by the General Urban Planning Plan of 1986 with its corresponding urban modifications so that the city stay within the law.

According to Sabrido, this document “will mark the future of the city for the next 30 or 40 years” so that the local Executive will seek the consensus of all the political groups represented in the Municipal Corporation.

“It is important that we all be united,” said the councilor for the area, since it will represent the present and future of the general feeling of the city, as reported by the City Council in a press release.

Once the previous studies carried out, the memory and the diagnosis that has been carried out on what Toledo needs in terms of urban development are made known, a participation process will be opened in which not only will voice be given to the Social Council of the city but to all citizens so that «together, we have the best POM for the city». Asked by the media about the future headquarters of the Civil Guard, the Councilor for Urban Planning pointed out that it is an issue that “everyone has understood necessary for more than 20 years in this city” and that thanks to the Government team current will take place.

For Sabrido, there are more people than political groups that would be in the “permanent” debate on where it is better to build, but it is clear that decisions must be made, he has said, “governing is that”, because if not “another 20 years without quarter and this government team is not willing to do that ».
