The Government of Castilla-La Mancha has made the payment of the Thermal Social Bonus for a total of 23,788 people in the province of Toledo with a budget of 5,466,435 euros.
This has been advanced by the delegate of the Board in Toledo, Javier Úbeda, during a meeting held with the mayor of Quintanar de la Orden, Juan Carlos Navalón, and other members of his team, to whom he has transferred the data related to his municipality and to the region of La Mancha in Toledo.
After recalling that these social aids are made through a single payment, made on April 22, and that they assume expenses of heating, electricity and gas bills, corresponding to the previous year, Úbeda has specified that «in the region of La Mancha Toledo, these aids have meant an amount of 667,142 euros that have benefited a total of 2,579 people from 11 municipalities” and added that “in the case of Quintanar, 750 people have been the beneficiaries of 196,911 euros.”
Úbeda recalled that “due to increases in energy prices in recent months, the Government of Castilla-La Mancha has doubled the amount earmarked for this aid” and stressed that “it is a decision that shows the sensitivity of the regional government with the people who need it most and that shows that for this Executive, people are the most important thing and their well-being is always at the center of all our policies.
The delegate of the Board in Toledo has explained that this aid ranges between 128 euros and up to 373 euros and is calculated based on the climatic zone and the degree of vulnerability of the home and has added that after the decision of the regional government to extend the The amount of the aid for the 2021 Thermal Social Bonus has gone from the eight million euros in total allocated in 2020 by the Government of Spain, “to double this amount”, to reach the 18.9 million euros managed by the Board of Communities, for the second consecutive year.
«Castilla-La Mancha is the fourth Autonomous Community with the largest budget in this area and the province of Toledo is the first in the region as a whole in volume of recipients and budget with more than 5.4 million euros, representing 28.9 percent of the regional total”, Javier Úbeda pointed out.
The 667,142 euros paid to 2,579 beneficiaries of the Thermal Social Bonus in eleven towns in La Mancha in Toledo -Corral de Almaguer, Cabezamesada, El Romeral, Villacañas, La Villa de Don Fadrique, La Puebla de Almoradiel, El Toboso, Quero, Quintanar de la Orden , Miguel Esteban and Villanueva de Alcardete-, represent 12.2 percent of the total paid in the province, Javier Úbeda has indicated.
The beneficiaries of the Thermal Social Bonus are the recipients of the Electric Social Bonus and these aids are an economic compensation for these families, with two types of beneficiaries, vulnerable families and families with severe vulnerability. These aids represent between 25 and 40 percent of the electricity bill.
