With the words of the former Minister of Education and Culture and former Deputy Mayor of Toledo, Ángel Felpeto Enríquez, in charge of pronouncing the Corpus Christi proclamation this year, the Big Week of Corpus Christi 2022 in Toledo will officially begin, which this year recovers the solemn procession through the streets of the city after two years of pandemic on Thursday, June 16.
Felpeto’s proclamation will take place on June 6 at the Rojas Theater at 8:00 p.m. and the public present will be able to listen to him again after leaving active politics in 2019, the regional elections held that year in which the PSOE won the victory by absolute majority in Castilla-La Mancha.
On June 15, Thursday eve of Corpus Christi, the inauguration of the Processional Race will take place, with the authorities and the pole vaulter, who will leave the Town Hall at 10:00 p.m.
Previously, there will be a Spanish wine, at 9:00 p.m., at the San Marcos Cultural Center.
The Processional Race is a tradition in which the Municipal Corporation of Toledo accompanies the pertiguero in its previous route through the streets of the Historic Center through which the procession will run the next day.
