MADRID, 17 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The FC Barcelona player Alexia Putellas, current Ballon d’Or, has assured that if there is something “more complicated than winning” it is “to win again”, something that they will try to do this Saturday (7:00 p.m.) in the final of the League of Women’s champions against Olympique de Lyon at the Juventus Stadium in Turin (Italy).
“If there is something more complicated than winning, it is winning again, repeating it, overcoming yourself again, and that is very complicated. It also wears out a lot, but it is worth every second,” Putellas said in an interview with DAZN.
He also recognized how complicated it was to match the feat of the five consecutive titles of Olympique de Lyon, his rival in the final. “In the end, what they have done is very complicated. I don’t know if any team will do it again. It is clear that it is a challenge for all the teams to try to achieve what they did. We have a very wide squad with different profiles that help us to be much more unpredictable,” he said.
Finally, the Catalan stressed the importance of DAZN in increasing the visibility of women’s football. “Having the opportunity to play in the team of my life is like a dream. People are much more aware of us because we have won, because there is much more visibility in the ‘Champions’ with DAZN, much easier to access”, she expressed.
“People know him much more, they follow you much more. So, of course, shooting a penalty here -at the Johan Cruyff- is not the same as at the Camp Nou. They are things that I had not experienced before and that make this season be even prettier, more special,” he concluded.
